Not every autoclave is class B - but everyone should be.
Class B autoclaves are considered the gold standard of sterilisation - and for good reason: thanks to the fractionated vacuum process, air is reliably removed from hollow bodies, articulated instruments and narrow lumens. This allows saturated vapour to completely penetrate even hard-to-reach areas - such as milling cutters, cutters, pliers or nail clippers. This is precisely where class N or S autoclaves reach their limits.
The SteriHero Speed+ brings medical quality to modern nail salons. The compact class B autoclave combines gentle steam sterilisation, flexible loading options and ultra-fast cycles - ideal for both solo artists and studios with multiple workstations. Developed for the demanding daily studio routine, it makes uncompromising hygiene a matter of course: simple, efficient and safe.
To ensure maximum safety without unnecessary complexity, the SteriHero Speed+ has four standardised programmes, clearly structured and optimally adapted to different materials and requirements.
The SteriHero Speed+ programmes
Universal B programme (134 °C)The Universal B programme is the all-rounder for everyday studio use. It is suitable for rigid instruments, products with narrow lumens and complex hollow items - both wrapped and unwrapped. Textiles and sterile containers can also be safely sterilised at 134 °C with a plateau time of 5:30 minutes. Short running times and integrated drying ensure flexible, efficient work processes.
Quick S programme (134 °C)The Quick S programme is the right choice when time is of the essence. It was specially developed for simple solid instruments and simple hollow bodies, e.g. articulated instruments, which are sterilised without packaging. Sterilisation takes place at 134 °C with a plateau time of 3:30 minutes and enables extremely short cycle times - ideal for quick instrument changes during studio operation.
Gentle B programme (121 °C)The Gentle B programme is ideal for thermolabile materials such as plastic or rubber components and delicate textiles. Thanks to the lower temperature of 121 °C and a plateau time of 20:30 minutes, instruments are reprocessed in a particularly gentle way while being safely steam sterilised - wrapped or unwrapped. Ideal for studios that want to combine the longevity of sensitive materials with maximum hygiene.
Prion B programme (134 °C)The prion B programme offers maximum safety for instruments with increased sterilisation requirements. With an extended plateau time of 20:30 minutes at 134 °C, it helps to reduce the risk of prion transmission. This programme is particularly relevant for users who have to comply with national or institutional regulations - for example in Switzerland or France - for dealing with potential prion contamination.
The programme selection is supplemented by the integrated weekly vacuum test to detect leaks in the steam system and the Bowie-Dick test to check the steam penetration of textiles using special test packages. This ensures that the reliable function of the autoclave is continuously monitored and documented.
